The Ann Arbor Area...
is home to many great things.
The
University of Michigan is located here, three outstanding
hospitals, world headquarters for many successful companies
including Domino's Pizza, Pfizer, Flint Ink and many computer,
research and high-tech firms. We have some of the finest
public and private schools in Michigan. There are over 200
great restaurants, many of which have European-style outdoor
dining from spring through fall.
Ann Arbor was voted the 5th best place to
live in the US by Money Magazine in 1997, 6th in 1998 and
the best place to raise a family in 1999!
Some of the most diverse cultural events in
the country take place in Ann Arbor. The
Ann
Arbor Art Fairs attracts a half a million people on
the third week in July every summer. Great concerts, entertainment,
plays and speakers add to Ann Arbor's culture and diversity.
If you like sports, you'll love Ann Arbor.
Over 110,000 people watch Michigan football 6 or 7 times
each year in Michigan Stadium, known as the "The Big
House," the largest football stadium in America. College
hockey, basketball, softball, swimming, gymnastics, and
track are all world class as well. Indoor and outdoor soccer,
youth hockey and figure skating are all popular,
not
to mention canoeing down the Huron River, fishing and hunting
year-around, or golfing at over 35 golf courses within 30
minutes of downtown Ann Arbor.
Ann Arbor is just 20 minutes from Detroit
Metro Airport, making the whole world easily accessible.
Ann Arbor has a very large percentage of entrepreneurs
and professionals, especially in the computer industry,
making it like the Silicon Valley of the midwest. Its education
level is definitely well above average. If you get bored
here, Its your own fault.
As an Ann Arbor native, Dave Dean is best
equipped to introduce you to this great community.
